This lesson was originally made for Level 3 Year 1 unit ‘Live Music Performance’, however it is applicable for any students looking to pursue a career in live music performance. Within this lesson we delve into what it takes to secure a slot at a major music festival, looking at tips from professionals within the industry. We also discuss what you should consider in your performance at a music festival, as this can be quite a different audience than your own ticketed show. We also analyse 2 videos from 2023’s Glastonbury Festival, taking into practice what we have learnt to discuss the pro’s and cons of the performances. Students are then set a task to consider what they need to improve/add into their own musical repertoire to make themselves more applicable for these festival opportunities.
